Family Services Center
Home for heroes when they need it the most
Almost all transitional housing facilities across the nation separate family members by gender, splitting families when they most need to be united. Sons are forced to sleep in a separate building or wing from their mother starting at age 12. Young daughters are out of the protection of their fathers. Spouses sleep apart. Veterans forgo needed treatment out of desperation for their children. Bad things happen. Families fail.
At the AMVETS Charities Family Service Center, families stay together, leading to far better outcomes, keeping children safe, and opening the door for ailing veterans to heal and thrive once again.
